Unorganized Borough, not Census Area

[edit]

"Alaska Statutes - Title 29 Chapter 03. The Unorganized Borough" (HTML). Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development.</ref>[1]

Per Alaska Statutes Title 29, Chapter 3. The "Unorganzied Borough" is a legal entity (run by the Alaska state government) a cross between a County and a Township in other States. A U.S. Census Area has absolutely no legal standing in Alaska. LeheckaG (talk) 15:58, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You, Template Cnote and Cref are fine with me. I had skipped past them in the notes/references documentation, and had not seen an example. LeheckaG (talk) 18:20, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I only ran across the idea a few days ago myself. Nyttend (talk) 18:58, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Updated:
  • photo caption to reflect "Oblique aerial" view
  • re-added your CA after Borough, and used the Template Cnote/Cref you pointed out to annotate same.
  • GNIS feature ID number to be a "one-click link" in addition to the general GNIS search provided by the label.
If we provide a link like to another Wiki article, and cite statistics from that article link (area-population),
do we need to duplicate their reference source citations?

LeheckaG (talk) 12:03, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide an example of what you mean about the "link like to another Wiki article"? Nyttend (talk) 16:26, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I reverted the last edit: not because of bad content, but because it was newly added with bad coding, and it doesn't help at all to have a broken link that nobody (except for the one posting it) knows what it's supposed to refer to. Nyttend (talk) 16:29, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Come on now! I was updating the Geography section and had to go to the Infobox to look up the "ref name=". When you undid the sentence I updated before I could correct the "ref name=" to the proper tag. Someone (you?) recommended that I edit in a sandbox and then just post over whatever else is there when I am done. To me that does not sound appropriate either. LeheckaG (talk) 16:33, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i noticed that the listed population is 1,397 and the listed number of students is 860. kinda odd (sorry if i listed this wrong i am a new user)Kelvinsmyth (talk) 17:39, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
