@Wiki-CBO: I don't know what "Some one uses for Wikipedia page on revenge" means, but as you're referencing my talk page in that comment, I feel vaguely slighted. If you want to properly accuse me of something, take me to ANI, as suggested. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:55, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

KSR Bengaluru-Kannur Express

[edit]

Hello Jimbfbleak, I noticed that the article on the KSR Bengaluru-Kannur Express was recently deleted. I kindly request its restoration as it is an important railway service that connects major cities and serves many passengers. I have translated relevant information from official sources and railway records to ensure accuracy. Although the current version may lack some citations due to translation challenges, I am committed to improving it and adding more references in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shreek1009 (talkcontribs) 11:00, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Shreek1009, please sign your messages. You said may lack some citations, but it didn't have any, despite being posted in article space. Also, you made promotional claims, like optimizing service efficiency and reach... enhance the train's operational efficiency and passenger convenience... unique daily service underscores its crucial role and similar opinions, stick to real facts. I'll shortly restore at Draft:KSR Bengaluru-Kannur Express Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:08, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I said real facts itself. As a train user, route via Kunigal is more convenient to passengers rather than Mysuru route. I myself have experienced and I have travelled in that route. I am ready to provide some references for my statement.

I hope the references which I provided in my previous messages are sufficient. If any changes should be made, I am ready to modify the article. Shreek1009 (talk) 11:52, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Shreek1009, you have the draft, let's see Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:24, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thanks. Should I do any modifications now? Shreek1009 (talk) 12:37, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Specter Divide

[edit]

Hi Jim! We are trying to setup a wikipedia article abour our company's new video game, Spectre Divide. I received a notice that our entry was deleted for conflict of interest reasons and would love to learn about the proper method to create an article page! Any help, knowledge hub link or setup info would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much! Mcderm (talk) 17:38, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Haysam Kadri

[edit]

Hi Jimfbleak. Just letting you know about Talk:Haysam Kadri as a courtesy since you're the admin who deleted its corresponding article, and one of the questions asked was "why was this page deleted?". I tagged the page for speedy deletion per G8, but you should be able to see the page even if it's deleted by the time you read this. FWIW, the user who posted (Calgaryleb) was notified that the article had been tagged for speedy deletion, but perhaps they weren't able to respond to those notifications until after it had already been deleted. -- Marchjuly (talk) 20:27, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Marchjuly @CycloneYoris:'s tag addresses the copyright issue, and I've posted additional guidance on Calgaryleb's talk, thanks Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:34, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for doing that. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:09, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Calgaryleb seems to have attempted to recreate the page, but it was speedily deleted by Versageek. This user's repeated attempts at recreating deleted articles was pointed out at User:Kuru#Draftification of WestNet Inc., and I was hoping that things could be resolved in some way other than a block. However, now I'm not so sure because their response to you at User talk:Calgaryleb#COI doesn't seem to indicate that they're understanding the notifications being left on their user talk page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:56, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Marchjuly blocked now, thanks Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:08, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunate perhaps, but I don't think they showed any sign of understanding why their recreations kept being deleted and they kept running into problems. So, while it's true their account was created in 2006, they only made 76 edits in 18 years and almost half of those were deleted; so, it probably would've been better for them to do a little less recreating and a little more listening. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:06, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Leszek S Czarnecki biography

[edit]

you have recently contacted me suggesting that I wrote my own biography. Well - as noted by information about possible conflict of interests- I am related to Leszek Czarnecki but I am not him. Profesor Czarnecki has achieved global recognition in his niche field of research becoming one of only two receipients of Life Fellow IEEE from Poland as well as being recognised as top 2% of scientists by Sranford University. Therefore I felt that such addition to Wikipedia especially since there is already an article about another Leszek Czarnecki whose main achievement was becoming a millionaire. And on the other hand Profesor Czarnecki (not the millionaire) has already been mentioned in number of other Wikipedia articles. Aardwark (talk) 18:19, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Alas the notability directives of wikipedia itself state:
Academics
Main page: Wikipedia:Notability (academics)
Many scientists, researchers, philosophers and other scholars (collectively referred to as "academics" for convenience) are notably influential in the world of ideas without their biographies being the subject of secondary sources.
So once again, I ask You for a discussion - not deletion - as the person we are talking about is not only recognised by multiple sources but also - in addition to these - has had some remarkable achievements as well as many multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. Aardwark (talk) 23:08, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Replied on user talk page, text is mostly sourced either to his own publications or not at all, and some claims aren't verified by the supposed source. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:39, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Nicholas Tate page on 2 June

[edit]

Puzzled by this deletion. Nicholas Tate has held important posts that are of historical and continuing interest, continues to publish and lecture extensively and people are likely to look for his Wikipedia entry. He did not make the page and does not use it for publicity. The two criteria cited - self-promotion and importance - do not seem to apply. The page omits much information about his CV and probably needs updating. Keckskemet (talk) 00:24, 7 August 2024 (UTC) NYCFurlong (talk) 02:45, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@NYCFurlong and Keckskemet: the page Nicholas Tate is a disambiguation page with two extant articles, and neither of you have any article of a similar name in your contribution history, so no idea what you are talking about here, please give correct name of deleted page so I can investigate Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do not have a reference to the Nicholas Tate page. It has been removed altogether. This 'Nicholas Tate' was Chief Executive of two quangos, Headmaster of Winchester College and Director-General of The International School of Geneva. I argued against the grounds given for its removal. Keckskemet 146.198.169.146 (talk) 09:01, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keckskemet, please don't edit when logged out, that's not good practice. If you don't know the name of the article, I can't help you, I'm not prepared to search through hundreds of edits Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The title of the article that has been removed altogether within the last month of so was 'Nicholas Tate'. I have no other reference and have been unable to find how I might locate it in the deletion log. If you can advise me as to how I might do this and best contest the deletion I should be most grateful. Keckskemet :::::Keckskemet (talk) 14:14, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keckskemet, please don't create a new heading for each message in the same thread. I've found the text now. The text was completely unreferenced, and had been tagged for deletion as promotional in tone and not meeting the notability guideline for academics. You said He did not make the page and does not use it for publicity. but how do you know he didn't write the page? Either way, we do not accept unreferenced biographies of living people. If someone wants to write an article properly referenced to independent verifiable sources, and with a neutral tone, there is nothing to stop them Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:09, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This entry has been on Wikipedia for over 20 years and put up at a time when the subject for 6 years was the chief adviser to the Secretary of State for Education and head of two major quangos. The subject did not write it and does not use it for publicity (Keckskemet is the subject). He does not need to use it as he is well known in the educational world. The objection to the removal is to the arbitrariness of a decision to wipe out a piece of recent educational history without an opportunity to find out why in detail the decision was made or to object. The matter is not of sufficient importance to me to have to create a new page but I would like the opportunity to ask for an undeletion. If you are not able to help me have this considered I should be grateful for advice as to how I might do so. Thank you for your patience. Keckskemet Keckskemet (talk) 15:38, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keckskemet, Please don't create a new heading for each message in the same thread. It has never had any references, so it's junk that survived for a long time. You've said again The subject did not write it and does not use it for publicity (Keckskemet is the subject). He does not need to use it... How do you know he didn't write it? You have an obvious conflict of interest, please don't write about yourself, your friends, colleagues or relatives. I think before we consider any restoration as a draft, you need to assure me that you can fully reference the text with independent verifiable sources. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls. You can edit with a COI, but you must be transparent about your interest in this topic Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:50, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Jimfbleak, I hope this message finds you well.

I recently noticed that the article I created about Ahmad Natour, a distinguished Sharia Judge and former Chief Justice, was deleted on the grounds that it was promotional in nature. I understand the importance of adhering to Wikipedia's guidelines on neutrality and notability, and I sincerely apologize if the initial version of the article did not meet these standards.

I am writing to kindly request the temporary restoration of the article so that I may have the opportunity to revise and improve it according to Wikipedia's content policies. My intention is to create a balanced and informative entry that highlights Mr. Natour's significant contributions to the judiciary, while ensuring that the article is neutral and properly sourced.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration. I look forward to your response and any guidance you can provide on how to better align the content with Wikipedia's standards.

Create protection of Murugavel

[edit]

Hello! You create protected the title Murugavel due to repeated recreation. While attempting to AfC accept a relatively uncontroversial surname list at Draft:Murugavel, I ran into this page protection. If possible, please remove the create protection so that this draft can be accepted. Thank you! Garsh (talk) 18:31, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
