[edit]

Well done on adding this article. It's long overdue and your work is excellent.

A big thanks again.

Hi, can you please see the discussion at Patronymic? If you know the subject, can you please make corrections accordingly? Thanks.

VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For Download

[edit]

Happy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks. That list

[edit]

Thanks for notifying me. I think that the song list had to go. It is at first sight a good idea, until you actually think of how many songs don't have the title in the lyrics! --MacRusgail 19:34, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, most of their millions of hits in Google aren't real. There are only a few real hits. That huge number is because Myspace put them in Myspace ad rotation, and they seemed to be on millions of Myspace pages. --John Nagle 07:19, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

[edit]

Thanks for contacting me regarding my page, which has been nominated for deletion. I can't seem to find your email address and am still trying to figure out how to work the wiki. I do admit openly that technically it is a vanity page, but since I am mentioned a few of times in Wikipedia I don't see why I can't provide accurate information on myself. I have tried to make the entry as factual and streamlined as possible. Please drop me a line at salafia-at-gmail.com Tuathal

Update on Alpha Roll article

[edit]

Hey; I decided to add an accuracy dispute tag on the article you started Alpha roll. This is all based on footage I've seen on Cesar Millan. Please visit the discussion of that article, where I explain why I added the tag. Oh, and I also added some information to the article; "Recent video footage of behaviourists performing the Alpha roll has been shot and have proven the technique to not only be very effective, but also can be used in a safe manner, if done correctly. The evidence is scattered all over the National Geographic series, The Dog Whisperer, where dog behaviourist Cesar Millan personally rehabillitates problematic dogs, often aggressive ones, with obssesive behaviors. Much of the episodes show Cesar Millan performing this technique on dogs, often times when the dog has attacked or is about to attack another dog; although it is only used on very aggressive dogs as a punishment, Cesar uses it often in the show. It should be noted that the technique is safe only when performed correctly and at the right time. In one episode, Cesar Millan was able to have a dog from his own pack in his Dog Psychology Center perform the Alpha roll on itself voluntarilly, as a punishment. In this scenario, a member of his own pack attempted to attack another dog. As a punishment, Millan, without touching the dog, and standing over ten feet away, stared the dog down into submission; the dog performed the Alpha roll on itself as a punishment and a show of submission."

I was wondering what you feel about the updates? Have you seen this new series? You may consider revising the article. Thanks! 67.164.209.137 19:58, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

[edit]

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:31, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure it says Landis is sacked - none of the Google news results seem to report that yet although it seems extremely likely--A Y Arktos\talk 10:08, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Answered on User_talk:AYArktos.

Yes, I did get the information from the IMDB, however I thought it was deemed acceptable as The Damned Thing, Family (Masters of Horror episode), and many more by different authors are from the IMDB. xholyrelicxTalk 01:24, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Discussion

[edit]

Why are you trying to undermine my efforts to educate our fellow wikipedians about policy? Alan.ca 09:51, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not and I am sorry if you perceive it that way. Rather than attempt to educate about policy it is my feeling that you are actually trying to change it, or deviate from it, and this is what I am resisting. I believe most AfD participants are perfectly aware of policy (and many have indeed taken part in establishing the policy in the first place). Policy is more than documents, the usual application and interpretation of the policy forms an integral part of it in itself. While I agree that AfD is not a vote, that argument rings a bit hollow when you have 2 in favour of delete and 16 against, all with rationale. My advise to you to back down is genuinely meant, and I hope you do not take it in the wrong way. TH 10:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:AhmadAbuLaban196.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AhmadAbuLaban196.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:12, 8 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:12, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Fenny.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Fenny.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 05:54, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
