Alumni

[edit]

I'm not sure that Heinz Winkler and now-popular rugby players should be included in the notable alumni list - these people will most likely not be remembered in more than 10 years time - and wikipedia shouldn't document the future.

It doesn't really matter to me; I don't think any University is defined / made famous by its alumni in any case. But it does provide links to some current topics — I think the links can be changed/updated in the future, when somebody else having their 15 minutes of fame appears. Dewet 11:20, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Wilgenhof

[edit]

I merged the lead paragraph from Wilgenhof into this article, per the AfD result. If someone wants to merge more of the text, please go ahead. --B. Wolterding (talk) 14:43, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I undid the merger, as we would like for the page to function on its own since the page it merged to makes no mention of Wilgenhof.--Checker1993 (talk) 15:24, 06 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Checker1993: who is "we"? The background to my question is that shared accounts aren't allowed on the English Wikipedia. --Slashme (talk) 13:42, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Slashme: sorry, no we, I was busy with something and miss-typed. Kind regards Checker1993 (talk) 13:44, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hein Grosskopf

[edit]

Some genius confused (1) Hein Grosskopf (ex MK and ANC) with (2) his father Prof HJ Grosskopf of Stellenbosch Dept of Journalism and (3) one of his uncles Heinrich and Ernst (Erni) Grosskopf, both judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of SA.

For the record, Hein was not a Matie nor a judge nor in Botswana except very briefly in transit to Zambia in his ANC days. As is clear from his TRC testimony, he is a social worker and lives in England. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ernstbg (talkcontribs) 22:41, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stellenbosch University Choir

[edit]

It would be great if the people who update and maintain the University's page could also help with updating the Stellenbosch University Choir's page as well.

I've basically built that page up myself, but don't really have a clue how Wikipedia works and don't really know how their overly-complicated copyright regulations work. Every time I upload photos, they get deleted.

I think the university can afford to employ someone who is dedicated to updating relevant info on the web, including Wikipedia. That person should then also look at the choir's page.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.133.226.147 (talk) 21:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
