Mikhail Gorbachev Nobel Peace Prize Controversy
[edit]I added the name of Mikhail Gorbachev to the controversial Nobel Peace Prize winners because it was in fact very controversial back then, knowing that he opposed the independence of the Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and even used very repressive methods against their claims, like it happened the following month to being given his award. The source I used proves it: "Some Scandinavian commentators had doubted that Mr. Gorbachev would get the Peace Prize, generally the most controversial of the annual Nobel awards, because policies like those barring separatist movements in the Baltic republics and sending troops to crush riots in Soviet Azerbaijan made him too controversial." Liu Xiaobo prize as "subject of controversy"
[edit]At the moment there are 3 links cited: two from China Radio International and one dead link. Is that really enough to have him on the list of controversial recipients? GeneralGreene (talk) 19:06, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
List of laureates
[edit]I removed an extensive list of laureates copied from List of Nobel Peace Prize laureates. The list is too long for this article, which is why it has its own page. If there are opposing opinions, I suggest they be discussed here before the list is reinstated. Wikipeterproject (talk) 10:27, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
