So far as I can discover, praeteritio is only the Latin root of Engligh term preterition' (see, for example, the on-line 2005 Concise Oxford Dictionary and the Collins English Dictionary). I've found no mention of it as an English term in its own right. I've removed it from the article, but perhaps someone could provide a reference for it.

I've also cleaned up some of the grammar, sharpened (I hope) the definition, and replaced the example with one that's more central.

I must confess to never having come across cataphasis outside Theology, nor could I find it it in any reference work. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:08, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
