Prep for Featured Article push

[edit]

I'm starting a push to get this article up to FA status and will invite input from various groups (e.g. the Language RefDesk and WP Automobiles) to edit and/or leave comments for improvements.

This section serves as a placeholder for those comments. Thank you. Zunaid 11:24, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just come here from the language desk. You need the Guild of Copyeditors to help on the quality of the English. When I saw that this was an article about a car, I immediately switched off, because I have no interest in cars. So create an interest! Pull one fact out of the main body and add it to the lede. I saw that the car had won some awards. If one of those is particularly significant, add it to the lede. Otherwise, nothing tells me that this car is in any way special, different, or interesting. I also thought you needed to link Honda on first mention. The article looks very professional and informative, thanks very much for your efforts. Itsmejudith (talk) 12:15, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Honda S660 really a successor to the S2000?

[edit]

So I just added a sentence to the successor section of the S2000 where the S660 is listed saying the two are related by the "S" model chronology (an edit which I copied over from the S660 article) but I was wondering whether they should be listed as successors/predecessors purely on the base of they share the S nomenclature. I get the argument there but I personally don't think that warrants that leap. First and most obviously, the S660 is nothing like the S2000, having less than half the displacement and a mere 63hp as well as being mid engine and a clear spiritual successor to the Beat already. Second, it's not the same name, they're just both Honda models with an "S" in their name, which can be inferred to stand for "sport" or "sports" given that the original S model, the S360, shared the engine from the T360 kei truck whose name clearly refers to the body style (truck) and displacement (360cc). Those are my thoughts but of course I want to hear other's thought on the matter and whether the "S" nomenclature alone means enough to consider the S660 a successor. Possible deletion of the famous owners section

[edit]

I noticed that someone somewhat recently added a famous owners section to the article and I personally don't think its notable, so I wanted to get everyone else's opinions on it. My thoughts are that half of the people on the list are like C or D list as it is, and are all completely non notable to the trajectory of the car. They don't come to define a car, people don't associate them with the car on any large scale, they didn't play any notable role in the car's development/success/legacy, etc. I see no reason to keep the section as its just meaningless trivia filler. But what does everyone else think? Does anyone want to keep it? ~~ TKOIII (talk) 03:19, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
