At the end of the second lead paragraph, after “admissions are considered selective.” add the sentence “The latest admissions cycle saw only 8% of offers of admissions made to 118,000 total applicants.” With a reference to this[1] website (citation to be fixed accordingly). The University was incorporated by Special Act of the Legislature pursuant to Chapter 176 of the Laws of 1831 under the corporate name "The University of the City of New York" on April 18, 1831.
