Welcome, Jbailey. I'd love to see more articles about UU's, as I became one a year a couple of years before joining the Unification Church. --Uncle Ed 21:16 Feb 19, 2003 (UTC)

Welcome. On page Talk:Wiki, you once asked

Does anyone know what year the first Wiki existed? I'm trying to explain to someone that this is not an Internet technology of the month, but googling for "WikiWikiWeb history" is a pointless search. -- Jeff Bailey

Since then, the article has been updated with the information you wanted (1995). Happy editing. -- DavidCary 02:54, 21 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Jeff. I see this is the first school article you've worked on. Schools of a lower academic level than high schools are presumed not notable. You have to make a stronger showing of notability than GNG in order for it to be kept. It must meet the qualification for companies and organizations, WP:ORG, which requires widespread coverage. I don't see it for this school. Coverage that shows the school is a school is not sufficient, you need something exceptional, and that exceptional thing has to be covered outside the region the school is in. The community can decide. John from Idegon (talk) 14:50, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, John. I was unaware that there had to be coverage outside of the region as well. My notability claim for this school is certainly within this region, but I haven't looked outside of it to know whether it has it or not. I'll look for extra sources to see if I can address this concern. jbailey (talk) 15:23, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, none of your latest is particularly constructive.
  1. You cannot blank an article at AfD. Read the AfD template..
  2. Copying the entire contents of the article you wrote to the school district article is a violation of WP:WEIGHT. Unless you are prepared to write equally detailed analysis of all the other elementary and middle schools in the district, your edit puts unfair and undue emphasis on one school over all the others.
  3. We do not use infobox school in school district articles.
I'll be undoing it all. John from Idegon (talk) 01:13, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As I requested the AfD status, I expected I could take it out. You provided additional details (notability outside of region), and I agreed and completed what you started. I will likely flesh out the rest of the schools, although it may take me a while to do that. Please stop assuming that I will or won't do work. As I noted in my original comment, please use the talk pages to actually discuss this with me. I'm happy to do the work to get both the important information in here and match the style required. jbailey (talk) 05:10, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please do yourself a favor and start listening? You've made less than 100 edits to articles here; I've made more than 24,000, and the vast majority of them have been to school articles. I am one of the coordinators of Wikiproject schools. Please believe me when I tell you the level of detail that you have in that article is never going to be appropriate in a school district article. Ok? No one is picking on you or doubting your willingness to work, we (and I am not alone) are trying to tell you that for this venture you have chosen an inappropriate subject. Altho this is the encyclopedia anyone can edit, that does not mean it is the encyclopedia that will include everything you choose to write about. Sorry you have wasted so much time on this. If there is anything I can do to help you understand the exceedingly (and IMHO, unnecessarily so) complicated notability guidelines, please let me know. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 05:48, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is unclear why you're choosing a harsh tone or an attack on inexperience. I've never claimed to know more than you, so your statements border on being an attack rather than being constructive. Please reconsider. Specifically, the only claim to notability that you've objected to was visibility outside of the region causing it to have to be on the district page rather than on its own page. If you have further guidance, I'm happy to hear it! Accusing me of failing to listen when I have directly addressed all feedback given to me so far comes across as intentionally pernicious. Can we go back to assuming Good Will and work together on producing the best article possible? jbailey (talk) 06:53, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
John, did you intentionally remove the school district for Mountain View-Whisman School District infobox as well when reverting the edits to the page? You reverted 7 edits. I understand the first 3, I don't understand the following 4. jbailey (talk) 05:41, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
