Hey Ben! Man, you scared me! I saw that somebody had edited my user talk page, and I was afraid I'd stepped on somebody's toes. I've been making a lot of edits recently. Didn't know (or forgot) you were into linguistics. - Gwalla 07:56, 4 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Not sure if I ever mentioned it, but I suppose it is a hobby of sorts for me. Kairos 17:30, 4 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Taiwan / Chinese Taipei reply

[edit]

Hi Kairos, I came across this problem when creating the pages for these olympics but was advised by an admin that to call them anything other than Taiwan was poin of view. The olympic committee only call them chinese taipei so as not to upset the Chinese. But as we do not take politics into account we should be calling them Taiwan.Scraggy4 21:47, 14 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Well, if that's what's been decided upon, that's fine with me. I won't change that anymore. Kairos 21:54, 14 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Please don't remove the lesser than bronze statistics

[edit]

I've reverted back the medal table on fencing, just don't remove it because you can't fill it out, wait for someone else to do it. --Obli 10:04, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Well, I wasn't removing it because I couldn't fill it out, but because it's of limited value, makes the table overly busy and somewhat confusing (for instance, South Korea with no medals but two top-eight finishes is listed above Switzerland with one gold medal), and because it's been removed on all of the other events that had it, I think (I didn't check all of them, so I could easily be wrong about that). But if most people desire it, I'll not argue with it. Kairos 23:44, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC) (P.S.: I didn't respond until all of this time had passed because of an Internet service outage in my neighborhood.)

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page. Gwalla | Talk 01:09, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Never a problem. Kairos 02:00, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for noticing the work on Doyle Brunson. Most of it was done before I even got there, though. I was a bit upset that we only had articles on 2 or 3 big poker players, so a couple of week ago I started on what has become this category. Now, after writing initial pages, I'm going back through and writing detailed biographies of as many as possible. I guess it's not much of a casual interest, as I've played in a few poker tournaments (all online) and even won one. From your user page it looks as though you've got more than a casual interest as well, so the category may be of interest to you (either for reading or editing). Also, on an unrelated note, it's nice to see someone else from Kentucky! CryptoDerk 23:56, Sep 18, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

List of Revolution games

[edit]

I wanted to ask that you comment on Wikipedia talk:Votes for deletion/List of Nintendo Revolution games, now that I've improved the list to disclude rumors. -- A Link to the Past 05:02, July 16, 2005 (UTC)

1000000000000000000

[edit]

Hi, Kairos. In Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/1000000000000000000, I noticed you voted to delete the article 1000000000000000000. Could you please look into Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/1000000000000000000 (number)? Thanks. --A D Monroe III 01:01, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hey, I noticed you removed my link to Wikicities:c:gameinfo:EarthBound from EarthBound, with the comment "seems like spam to me". I don't really see how it's spam, although you may have based your decision on the vandalized page that was up at the time, which I've fixed. Based on the legitimate version I think the link is fine, though I'm admittedly biased as I'm the one who runs the wiki in question... - furrykef (Talk at me) 23:03, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Accidental revert

[edit]

Just a little point on your recent revision on the Alaska article. I'll put it simply:

When you did this to get rid of this and this, you also accidentally removed this, that and this. Because I'm slightly CBF at the moment, and because the geography section of the article has been edited since you reverted, could you please take the time reinstate the edits you blanked? Thanks. Black-Velvet 08:56, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I intended to revert those three edits as well. They simply removed the parenthetical SI measurements from the geography section, which doesn't accomplish anything useful and is kind of discourteous to users who aren't familiar with US Standard.
Admittedly, it's my fault for not making that clear in my edit summary. I really need to get less lazy about that... Kairos 11:57, 10 November 2006 (UTC) (copied from User talk:Black-Velvet)[reply]
Ah, I see. Then it's my fault for not being more thorough with my history perving. Sorry to trouble you. Black-Velvet 14:18, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
