Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.

Visit Payson? Maybe not...

[edit]

I was thinking of a road trip up to Payson and was pleased to find an entry in Wikipedia until I read the section on Culture, which I think contains too many opinions to be encyclopedic, regardless of citations. In light of the other comnments and examples in this section, I wonder if someone is determined to present Payson in a bad light.

"The area is well known for the cultivaion of Cannabis Sativa. Some of the Largest fields in the United States have been found there. [4]

The use, distribution, and manufacture of d-N-methylamphetamine in the area is extremely heavy.[5]

A heavy concentration of registered sex offenders live in the area. Including individuals who impersonate minors and even register as students in the local schools..[6]"

Some debated content

[edit]

Okay, here we go, I've pasted in below the content that's been added several times. My main objection is the colloquial tone and overall unencyclopaedic quality. I'm open to discussion though - so is there anything in particular about all of this that you want to see added; that you think the article is currently lacking? This is just to get the ball rolling. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 06:05, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've read carefully through the above, and weeded out everything that was overtly non-NPOV or irrelevant. I was left with this:

The Mogollon Rim lies to the North of town. Three golf courses exist within the area, two of which are owned and operated by private country clubs.

I have since added this back into the main article. Thoughts? --PeruvianLlama(spit) 06:31, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
