Consistency With Spelling of His Name

[edit]

I don't care which spelling of his name is picked (though presumably the most common usage should be selected) but it must be used consistently throughout this page. I have made many minor edits before trying to achieve some consistency, but I very well may have only added to the confusion. I think this must be addressed before any other issue. It's paramount to the readability and legitimacy of the article.--StringRay (talk) 01:01, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blackalicious reference?

[edit]

Is this the rapper namechecked in the Blackalicious song, Deception? They sing about a rapper who was rags-to-riches-to-rags... and dumped his artistic credibility as soon as he had a huge hit (the Thong Song), but when he went to make another, he was completely out of touch with the industry...The opening line is "This is the story of a kid whose name is cisqo"...(I don't know how they spell cisqo)--Macca7174 23:19, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think so. 1)Sisqo does not rap; 2)Sisqo sucks and I hope Blacklicious would not stoop to dissing him; 3)I just think that cisco sounds cool and fit the rhyme scheme well. By the way, that song is the shit.

I vehemently disagree. Not that Blackalicious aren't the shit, they most definitely are, but Sisqo is the subject of "Deception." In fact, I was surprised not to find this as a footnote on this page. The verses of the song track his rise and fall very closely. Note Sisqo's very poor sales with his later LPs. Then he was "dropped from his label, and he's goin broke," working as an independent recording artist. I say "Deception," for what a well-written and reasonably popular song it is, ought to be on this page.--StringRay (talk) 00:58, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Similarity to K-Ci

[edit]

'Sisqó's vocal style has a lot in common with that of K-Ci from Jodeci. As such, several people, K-Ci included, have criticized Sisqó as having co-opted K-Ci's singing style wholesale, while Sisqó himself has gone on record many times naming K-Ci as his primary influence.' I just want to say that I find this extremely funny. Back in '99, when Will Smith released 'Will2k' featuring K-Ci, after having previously released 'Wild Wild West' featuring Sisqo, I thought K-Ci was Sisqo. Only when I saw the video, I realised it was K-Ci from Jo-Jo (and Jodeci). 80.56.132.129 20:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Overlooked mistake

[edit]

"Sisqó met future Dru Hill bandmate James "Woody" Green while in middle school.[citation needed] Sisqo attended Mervo and later transferred out to Baltimore City College . Where he would meet Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin The two of them would later be recruited by Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin to form Dru Hill, named after Druid Hill Park in Baltimore. Larry "Jazz" Anthony was also soon added to the lineup."

Orphaned references in Sisqó

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Sisqó's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Gay/ Bisexual Rumours?

[edit]

I've been tryna trackback to the rumours of Sisqo being gay/bisexual

Back in from 2007 it was rumoured that Sisqo was Gay/Bisexual. Rumours continued throught when he appeared on Celebrity Big Brother wearing a mankini (2010 youtube video ), when he allegedly was caught kissing a man (Yahoo news 2012), allegedly caught with an Asian male but naked (MediaaOutake2007), and dying his hair blond/silver

But apparently he "addressed" this in an interview with VladTV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WiiWc7Rumg and addressed this. And also a lengthy interview on The Breakfast Club (2014)

Aditionall a 2001 book by Leah Furman "Sisqo: The Man Behind the Thong[1]" sources the verdict was still out. I'm still interested in finding out or at least including these rumours and/or confirmations on the main Wiki
