‘value of academic criticism’ section

[edit]

This section seems superfluous? Literary criticism is a huge academic discipline (or its popular version in book reviews but that’s a very different thing) and the opinion of only two authors, even as ‘big’ as Joyce, doesn’t really matter to an understanding of it. It’s like having a page on ‘physics’ with a huge section on ‘criticism of physics’ and then only two unconnected names. Pharalope45 (talk) 09:40, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I believe it should be removed, and Eagleton’s views aren’t even criticism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:6010:11F0:3C0:4111:6F56:6969:3736 (talk) 03:04, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
