The Lyrics

[edit]
  • The full text of Geographical Fugue are incorrect, especially for Soprano. Those lines are so incredibly skewed that I'm confused as to what they were transcribing when putting those words as the Geographical Fugue. Essentially, the English lyrics only has the lines:

Trinidad, and the Big Mississippi and the Town Honolulu and the Lake Titicaca.
The Popocetepetl is not in Canada rather in Mexico Mexico Mexico
Canada Malaga Rimini Brindisi Canada Malaga Rimini Brindisi
Yes Tibet! Tibet! Tibet! Tibet! Tibet!
Nagasaki! Yokohama! Nagasaki! Yokohama!

  • And the lines are simply variations of those... not all the crazy lyrics shown. Furthermore, showing the lyrics probably doesn't do the Fugue justice unless you could show how all the Tenor/Soprano/Alto/Bass parts can correlate at the same time.
  • There's a lot of antiphony, and the countermeasures sound really good. It needs to be expressed im a way simpler than what currently is.
I've just noticed this; the original text I provided was correct, but User:24.1.242.11 seems to have replaced a lot of it with nonsense. 80.255 13:19, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

1) I think this is fair use, notwithstanding, and attributed. 2) the text listed is an English Translation, not the original German, so wouldn't necessary be covered even if the original text should turn out to be under copyright. 3) I have reduced the quote text to a few lines. However, I still believe the full part text could and should be listed. As the piece consists of considerably more than text, reproducing the text alone is tantamount to quoting (with attribution) a paragraph from a book, which is perfectly acceptable from a copyright standpoint. 80.255 14:20, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
