This is just correcting poor spelling. Is Wiki really in the job of doing this? Im sure the software will be updated one day to allow partial match searches, and when it comes we dont want Wiki to be full of crappy pages like this one. - UnlimitedAccess 12:58, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

The purpose of redirects are to help readers, and having common mispellings or variants as redirects does this. Do not put an AfD tag on this page: those are strictly for articles and putting one on a redirect breaks the redirect. If you really think this redirect must be deleted, list it on redirects for deletion and see what the consensus on it is. Jonathunder 17:44, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirections for misspellings may only encourage more misspellings.

Instead, redirect common errors such as Febuary to a page that explains the error and asks for it to be fixed.

Do not redirect rare misspellings at all and let let the link remain red, until someone else comes along and fixes it.

See next topic for frequency count of various misspellings of February.

Counts as at 08 March 2008.

You cannot redirect all misspellings, though you might list them to help perform manual correction.
