Would someone be willing to add a section on the history of the GIMP mascot?
[edit]Each release (or version) of GIMP has included a cute little mascot with two eyes and a nose.
However, the art style has changed over the years.
Is someone willing to pull the .jpeg
file from each archaic (deprecated) version of GIMP and arrange the pictures in a row or column, so that a user of Wikipedia might enjoy viewing a string of the historical progression of the official artwork used for the GIMP mascot or logo. 2603:300B:19:2400:C970:9E1E:BE8F:7ED0 (talk) 21:48, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
Discrepancy on release version dates
[edit]I noticed that release version dates on this article correspond to when a GIMP website post was made announcing the release, and not when the version was created and tagged in the repository. For version 2.10.36, the post came on November 7, 2022[1], but the release was tagged on November 5.[2] Should we convert the release dates to the ones from the code repository?
The current download page also has the date November 5: "The current stable release of GIMP is 2.10.36 (2023-11-05)."

Glimpse links here, but no appropriate information is present
[edit]There is a fork of GIMP names Glimpse. The (disambiguation) page Glimpse links here, but there is no mention of that name. Okterakt (talk) 23:35, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
