I know there's a tendency to write articles about people who are related to a recent a news story. We should resist that tendency. Rhobite 23:42, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Is there anything significant about James Niggemeyer other than he shot the man who shot Dimebag Darrell? This article is just a rehash of the murder section of the Dimebag Darrell article. — Flamurai 00:09, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete and merge into the article about the shooting (presuming there is one). [[User:David Johnson|David Johnson [T|C]]] 00:11, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
    • There are a few articles related to the murder. Rhobite 00:21, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)
  • Perhaps just replace it with a redirect to an appropriate article relating to the shooting. Aerion 01:20, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Mikkalai 02:43, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Redirect only: redirect to Dimebag Darrell. Geogre 05:45, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Agree with this redirect. [[User:Livajo|Ливай | ]] 06:39, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Redirect (as above) Wolfman 05:45, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
This man has committed an heroic act and attracted worldwide publicity in the process - could that not warrant an entry??

  • Delete - shooting someone who shoots someone else does not make someone notable. This sort of thing happens all the time in the real world.... - rernst 14:24, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Do not delete. This man saved lives and deserves an entry.
    • This is an anonymous vote. Rhobite 01:05, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)

The article is kind of pointless because there isnt any info on this officer thats unrelated to or cant be found in the articles on the shooting. However, if you add some other information about him ( with his agreement of course) this will be a legitimate entry.

This page is now preserved as an archive of the debate and, like some other VfD subpages, is no longer 'live'. Subsequent comments on the issue, the deletion or on the decision-making process should be placed on the relevant 'live' pages. Please do not edit this page.
