What are the "-Mt." things? is that an abbreviation for "mountain'? If so, it is not clear. Should they be "san" or 'Mountain," perhaps?

Definitely. -- Visviva 5 July 2005 04:36 (UTC)

Picture

[edit]

Doesn't seem to be occasion for this in the article at present, but here's a nice picture from the Wikimedia Commons, of a statue at Gwanchoksa: Image:Mireuk-bosal.jpg -- Visviva 14:40, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not that non?

[edit]

Does Nonsan really mean rice paddy mountain? I don't think it's that non: wikt:論 --Reuben 16:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It might - I just found a page for a place in Sokcho with the same name (except that it's 논산리 instead of 논산시), and apparently it still does mean rice paddy mountain and the character is just phonetic because that's the only one that's pronounced 논. 논산(論山)이란 마을 이름은, 이곳의 지형이 논 가운데 산이므로 순수 우리말로 논뫼라고 하던 것을 한자(漢字)로 논산(論山)이라고 표기한 데서 유래한다. It's likely that the character for the city is phonetic too. Mithridates 17:02, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just saw this note. Yes, it does. I live in Nonsan, and have been told this by locals and by professors at the university here.Kdammers (talk) 13:24, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Emblem

[edit]

Could some-one check the colors of the emblem source? The colors I see are a fair bit off from the green and blue on signs posted around Nonsan. Kdammers (talk) 13:24, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jojeong

[edit]

According to an article ( http://koreajoongangdaily.joinsmsn.com/news/article/article.aspx?aid=2951471 ) on Park Bum-shin, has his "home in the village of Jojeong in Nonsan." On Google maps, it shows up as a spit on Tapjeong Res. Is it worth mentioning?Kdammers (talk) 00:55, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

This article skips over Nonsan history from the eighth century to 1914. Isn't this too much to skip?--Seonookim (talk) 02:47, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
