Nixon

[edit]

I spoke with Mr. Crane last week and he was never a staff member to then former VP Richard Nixon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.231.249.141 (talk) 18:05, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Political Defeat

[edit]

I'm curious. Crane was a GOP golden boy in the 1970s and early 1980s. Why did he just fall of the radar screen? Did he anger somebody? Was something going on? I always got the idea the GOP was treating him like a redheadded stopchild. Can this story be told? Yakuman 11:47, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Retirement?

[edit]

The article speaks of "Crane's imminent retirement" as contributing to his defeat in 2004. If he were retiring, he'd not have been campaigning. If he'd promised to retire soon or some such thing, that needs to be clarified.Czrisher (talk) 15:31, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tiger Cages of Vietnam

[edit]

Is not Philip Crane's whitewashing of the USA-sponsored torture in Vietnam noteworthy? His claim that "the Tiger Cages are cleaner than the average Vietnamese home" angered even pro-USA Vietnamese.

Is not this as relevant to Crane's values as "The Oriental doesn't put the same high price on life as does a Westerner. ... We value life and human dignity. They don't care about life and human dignity." is to General Westmoreland's? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.253.73.146 (talk) 21:56, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

BIAS

[edit]

The part about the end of his career seemed very biased to me. I did not read the rest of it assuming it to be biased too. Lets work on being more fair guys. OK? --75.130.91.73 (talk) 21:33, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
